Cooperstown Art Association
Located at 22 Main Street in Cooperstown, the Cooperstown Art Association was formed in 1928 by a group of artists to serve and maintain interest in the applied and fine arts and to increase community awareness and participation in the arts. We strive to nurture the development of both artists and audience in all media and to educate the youth in the surrounding community. The CAA exhibits approximately 20 shows a year, featuring a wide variety of solo and group shows as well as annual exhibits like the Fenimore Quilt Show, our Regional and National Juried Exhibits, “Made in New York” Fine Craft Invitational and our Holiday Member Show & Sale. The Holiday show features work by our members including cards, ornaments, glass, sculpture, wood work, paintings, prints, photos, fiber arts, toys, furniture, pottery and much more. We offer classes, demonstrations and lectures throughout the year along with our ongoing figure drawing class.
Special events like our Spring Cleaning – Art Bazaar, Fine Arts on the Lawn, the Pumpkin Glow and the Adorn-a-Door Wreath Festival have become anticipated, beloved traditions in this community and beyond. In addition the CAA also sponsors and co-sponsors special programming like artist studio tours, art film series, theatrical productions and poetry readings among other events.
The CAA is open February – December with a full schedule of captivating exhibits, exciting events and interactive classes! There is always something happening at the CAA and admission to the galleries is free! We are open Daily 11-4pm, Sunday 1-4pm and closed Tuesdays Labor Day through Memorial Day.
