History Student & Faculty Reception
2:00 to 4:00 PM
GOHS and the Friends of the Swart-Wilcox House will host the students and faculty of the history departments at Hartwick College and SUNY Oneonta on Sunday afternoon March 1 at the History Center.

"Can you Dance?" Auditions at Foothills:
Foothills will be hosting a dance competition for ages 16 and up. Dancers may compete and audition in any style of dance and music (non-explicit). First place winner may receive up to $1500 in cash and prizes. Competitions will be held on March 29th, April 19th and April 25th. Audience for auditions and the competition are welcome with $3.00 cover. No Argentine chamber group has had such a sustained and brilliant existence as the Camerata Bariloche. Created in 1967, the orchestra has performed in the world's most important concert halls. The 2007 anniversary tour in the United States makes it possible for them to be heard in Oneonta.

Centennial Ball
The City of Oneonta’s Centennial Committee invites the public to attend the Centennial Ball on March 15th from 8 pm to Midnight at the Asa C. Allison Municipal Building on Academy Street (the former Armory) in downtown Oneonta. To celebrate the city’s rich history, the ball will be a festive evening of music, dancing and refreshment. The local popular band, Big Fish Combo with special guest Eric Haight from Off The Record, will be performing, with Oneonta’s own Doug Decker serving as Master of Ceremonies.  Hors d’oeurves and desserts donated by A.O. Fox Hospital will be served. Gallo Wines and Northern Eagle Beverage will be providing drinks. There will be no reserved seating.
Local organizations are being asked to participate by displaying items illustrating their history in the community.  Tickets for the ball cost $25 per person and include food and drinks. Tickets can be purchased at the City Clerk’s office in City Hall, Sport Tech, Woody’s Market, and Oneonta branches of Wilber Bank. Further information can be obtained through the City Clerk’s Office by calling 432.6450.

Log-Jam Movie Opens the 2008 Arts Council Film Series
