Cooperstown Candlelight Ghost Tours
7 pm
Depart from Pioneer Park. Learn about the village's rich history of ghostly sightings and haunted houses. Stories include the ghosts of the Church Street Cemetery, the haunting of Greencrest, and the legend of Ann Cary’s Curse. The cost of the tour is $10 for adults and $8 for children, but a special price of $4 per person will be offered to groups of 4 or more. Space is limited, so please call 547-8070 to make reservations in advance.

Meet the Mushers, Following the Fireworks
Located at the tent in Doubleday Parking Lot. Visit with the sled dogs and their owners and find out what it’s like to care for and race sled dogs! Food and beverages will be available in the warming tent.

Cabin Fever Film Series: Snow Dogs
7 pm
The Cabin Fever Film Series celebrates Winter Carnival and the Dog Days of Winter by showing the fun family film Snow Dogs in the Hall of Fame's Grandstand Theater. Starring Cuba Gooding Jr., Snow Dogs tells the story of a Miami dentist who inherits a team of sled dogs.  The film is rated PG and has a running time of 99 minutes.  The Cabin Fever Film Series is a cooperative effort by the Baseball Hall of Fame, Fenimore Art Museum, The Farmers' Museum, and Glimmerglass Opera to “heat things up every Friday this winter!”  Admission is free and doors will open at 6:30 p.m.; please use the main entrance to the Hall of Fame.  Refreshments will be available with proceeds benefiting area organizations.

The “Hair of the Dog” Carnival Cooler and Dance

“Who Let the Dogs Out” Carnival Parade

The Cooperstown Concert Series features an electic mix of music for its 2007-2008 line-up including jazz, blues, country, Celtic and two singer-songwriters. The seven-show season, featuring monthly installments, is Cooperstown's only off-season music venue. Season tickets are available as well as individual concert tickets.

Cooperstown Lions “Dog Days” Pancake Breakfast
8 am – Noon
Veterans’ Club, Main Street . Sponsored by the Cooperstown Lions Club and served by the Leo Club. Proceeds to benefit the Sight and Community Service Fund of the Lions Club and its youth component, the Leo Club. Tickets available at the door and in advance from Leo Club members. $5.00 per adult and $3.50 per child under 10. Come support our local Lions and thank them for their support of our wonderful Winter Carnival.

National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum

The Hall of Fame welcomes members of the community to visit during the Winter Carnival. Anyone wearing a 2007 Winter Carnival button will receive FREE admission to the Museum on February 10 & 11.

“Best Dog Gone” Snow Sculpting Contest
9 am – 3 pm
Main Street. Sponsored by Reiss Moving and Storage and Laser Car Wash. Create a snow sculpture related to this year’s carnival theme, “The Dogs Days of Winter.” Register at Headquarters in the Village Kiosk. Snow, ice and food coloring allowed. No props or paint. Sled Dog Demonstration I
9:30 – 10:30 am
Doubleday Parking Lot. Pennsylvania Sled Dog Club will display techniques and skills required by mushers and dogs when racing and training sled dog teams. A fascinating event for all ages!

Snowman Making Contest
10 am
Village Library, Main Street . Bring your own supplies. Sponsored by Reiss Moving and Storage / Laser Car Wash. 12-years-old and younger only. Participant ribbons and children’s prizes awarded.

Soup ’r Chili Lunch ’n Bake Sale
10 am – 3 pm
First Baptist Church, Elm Street. Menu includes soup or chili, bread, beverage, and dessert. Price is $6 for adults, $4 for children 6-10, and free for 5 and under. For more information, please call 547-9371.

Cross Country Skiing

National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum  Matinee Movie: Air Bud: Seventh Inning Fetch

Hall of Fame and Museum, Main Street. The Hall of Fame welcomes the Dog Days of Winter by hosting a screening of Disney's family film, Air Bud: Seventh Inning Fetch.  The film, rated G, has a running time of 93 minutes and will be shown in the Bullpen Theater. Free with a 2007 Winter Carnival Button.

Glimmerglass Opera Winter Fun
10 am-3 pm
Glimmerglass Opera Ticket Office, 18 Chestnut St. Kids will learn to write their names in Greek and decorate Greek theatre masks to wear; adults sign up to win two free adult tickets to Family Day at Glimmerglass Opera (July 15). Refreshments for everyone! Call 547-2255 for more information.

Frosty Coloring Contest

Farmers’ Market, in Pioneer Alley behind the Wax Museum. Kids 12 and under, decorate a snowman. Top 16 snowmen will be made into a “quilt” for display at the Chocolate Lovers event. Limited decorating supplies will be provided – you are welcome to bring your own.
